Rap duo, Flintz and T4ylor, famed for their success on Britain’s Got Talent, opened a new youth café (Creative Catch) in Derby as part of Catch22’s Derby and Derbyshire C.A.R.E.S service. The service supports children and young people who are at risk of, or experiencing, child exploitation.
Creative Catch, located in Flint Street in Derby, opened on 26th October to young people who have been referred to the Catch22 service. Monthly sessions will provide cooking, sports, music and gaming activities. The environment is a safe fun place for them to spend time together and each month, a visitor will share their talents or life experiences with the young people.
Catch22’s Case Support Worker, Zora Wilson, said:
“It’s a brilliant opportunity for the young people we work with to hear from positive influences, such as Flintz and T4ylor who are opening our new location. Creative Catch will run monthly but we’re expecting to increase the number of sessions in the future.”
Flintz and T4ylor met online during the pandemic and have formed a close friendship. Flintz has been very open about what he experienced while growing up in London and that the support of his family helped him to come through it and out to the other side. T4ylor is an extremely gifted pianist and has been there to offer support to Flintz and assist in turning his negative experiences into brilliant musical performances. The duo made it to the final of Britain’s Got Talent this year.
Derby-born professional boxer Sandy Ryan also attended the launch to talk to young people about her career. Next month she’ll be competing for the WBC silver female super-lightweight title in Wembley.

“The last youth café was in the centre of the city and what we were discovering was that more and more young people wanted to attend somewhere in the local community. This is a great location for us as it allows young people to freely come together so they can take part in what Creative Catch has to offer”
